Our Commitment to Diversity Equity and Inclusion

At Isenberg Women in Business, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are vital components to a thriving organization. We are dedicated to cultivating and maintaining an inclusive community that embraces members of all backgrounds and identities.

We recognize that the field of business has historically been dominated by a particular demographic, and that systematic barriers have created major roadblocks that have limited opportunities for countless minorities to engage with the industry. It is because of this unfortunate truth that we strive to break down these barriers by providing resources, support, and opportunities to help our members expand their professional skill sets and gain valuable career knowledge.

We are committed to promoting DEI through all aspects of our organization from our leadership, to our guest speakers, to our general body members as we prioritize gaining diverse perspectives in our work. That being said, we acknowledge that DEI is an ongoing process that requires continuous learning and action. Therefore, we strive to regularly evaluate and adjust our practices to ensure that we are fostering a truly inclusive community, and we value feedback for improvement from our members.

We believe that by constantly enhancing our DEI awareness and implementation, we can create a more dynamic and successful community that benefits all its members and advances the culture at UMass Amherst as a whole.
